I also communicated with the High School teachers and let them know that I will be taking over coordinating that piece of the program starting next fall.

Today I worked in the Community center with a man who was working on improving his English skills as well as studying U.S. history for his citizenship exam. I quizzed him about important American figures, holidays, and governmental structures.
Today I volunteered for the after school homework help at the middle school. I worked with an eight grader on his math homework. He was reluctant to do the work at first, as it involved many steps and took a bit of time to solve each problem, however, eventually he didn't seem to mind it so much. I love when students come in for math help because I hope to be a math teacher in the future.
Today I helped with a man from Ecuador work on his English skills. We read a short story focusing on comprehension as well as pronunciation. I absolutely love working with adult learners in the community center because they are always so excited to learn and so grateful for any small piece of help that you can give them.
Today I worked with a student on his math assignment. He was having trouble with some of the concepts, but after I explained things to him a few different ways he seemed to understand much better.
