About

A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Tonya graduated from St. Olaf College with majors in Biology and Asian Studies. After a 13-year career as a stained glass artisan, she started a new chapter of life in higher education and community engagement while simultaneously earning a master's in Water Resources Science from the University of Minnesota. Tonya and her family live in North Mankato and she enjoys making art, creative writing, and canoeing in her spare time.
