I walked down to pick up my students, and then we all walked back up to the Arb. We went and looked at the cabin, and read a book inside. We then played with bubbles, and climbed on the rocks. Right before they left, we played with chalk and played on the swings.
I quizzed the students on their sight words that they have been working on all year, and then we played outside!
Today, we worked on putting words into ABC order. We went through and circled the first letter of each word, then we cut them out and glued them on the paper. Then we read some books, and cleaned up for the weekend.
We celebrated Earth Day today! We created some Earth people, and then we also worked on measuring different lines.
We went to the Children's Museum in Mankato today! I had class cancelled, and so I was able to go along with Mrs. Sizer's class. It was very fun, especially since I was able to interact with many different students while playing at all of the different areas in the museum.
I met with JJ for two hours today because of the snow storm from last weekend. We started out playing some basketball in the gym, then we went and got a drink from the caf. Then we played eye spy, an alphabet game, hang man, pictionary, a maze game, and a complete the picture game. It was fun to just hang out, and do whatever we wanted today!
Once I got to South, the kindergarten class took their two walking laps around the school for a little bit of movement. Then, I worked on reading individually with some of the students. After that, we picked up and sang the goodbye song for the day.
I worked with the students on sight words. I pulled them back individually and went through flash cards with them. I was also there during some large motor activity lead by a teacher on the days that they do not have gym.
We went to the library again, but this time JJ was able to read books to me. We worked through the words he didn't know, and then on the way to the car we had a race. We had a fun time together!
It was my first day with Mrs. Sizer's class, and I got to work on reading with the kids. I pulled them back individually to work on matching the pictures to the words on the poster board. I also went to the SMART Room with them, where they had some time to burn off a little bit of energy before the end of the day.
