This was our last time together for this semester before Christmas break so we had a Christmas party! The Christmas party was for all Big Partners and Little Partners and it was very fun. The first thing we did was build a "gingerbread" house. We used graham crackers, white frosting and lots of yummy gumdrops and M&Ms. Our house was pretty sturdy and decked out. Then we made little reindeer hats that looked like Rudolph. After that we colored Holiday pictures. We had a blast and I'm so happy I joined BPLP because you get to be with these amazing kids.
This Friday we decided to try the shape cutting board in the Gustie Den. We cut out different shapes like a heart, clover, guitar, and a star. Then we colored them and that took up most of the time. We only have one time left and it'll be at the BPLP Christmas party. It's been a really fun semester and I'm glad I joined BPLP.
Today, the students should've read up to ch. 5 and we were helping Ms. G by going around to all the groups to make sure they were on task and focusing. All of the groups did really well managing their time, but one group really struggled to stay on task and did not finish the project.
We had all gotten back from Thanksgiving break and the students had started reading "The Outsiders." We made sure all of them were on task.
We had a lot of fun playing a new board game, Battleship. Then after the board game we colored. He was very excited for thanksgiving and no school.
We met a little later than usual but it was still very fun to play.
We were finishing up horror and terror.
This Friday was very cold weather wise, so we decided to play in the children's collection in the library. A friend and I tag teamed and had both our little partners play together. After we read some books, we colored and then my friend made them little origami boats. It was a fun day!
Today, the students had a work day finishing up the short story "Monkey Paw" and filled out a work sheet about different motifs and ironies. We, the study buddies, were partnered with groups that needed a little extra help staying focused. These students are very good about staying on task and getting work done. It was also a nice day so that could also have been the reason that students were kind of squirrly. All in all, another productive day in Ms. G's classroom and the time flew by this time,
This was my lucky week because I was able to hang out with my buddy twice this week because we went trick or treating on Wednesday and then hang out our regular time on Friday! This Friday, we played in Lund with a basketball and played soccer with it! It was really cute to watch him run back and forth and get a goal in each net. We then took a break from Lund and went to color in the student center until the end of our time. We colored castles and he learned about what makes a castle a castle. He's at a fun age where there are so many fun things to learn that it is fun to teach them what you know. I can't wait to hang out next week!
