Made thank you/veterans day cards at the house and then delivered the cards to the residents of UAMS veterans home. A resident (Walt) and the house dog (Abraham Lincoln) were our tour guides as we walked around the 5th and 6th floors of the veterans home and left cards outside residents’ doors or gave cards to the residents who were up and out in the community spaces. A woman veteran also told us the story of the Poppy flower and its significance to the battles that took place during WWI.
I worked on the house in Springdale by taping windows with special sealing tape that will keep water from entering the home through inevitable cracks around the windows. A team of us uncovered and moved long wooden boards closer to the house to improve efficiency for the builders.
