Event DescriptionJoin us at the Yvonne Richardson Community Center for a fun-filled summer at our Summer Fun4Kids and Summer Fun4Teens Camps! We have eight weeks of themed day camps (see below). Every week we go on field trips, play games, go swimming, exercise our inner 'Picasso,' and explore the world around us. 

We are looking for energetic volunteers who can help facilitate activities with youth in Kindergarten through 5th grade and tweens 6th-8th grade and join us on our excursions. You can sign up for part of the day, all day or multiple days! See shift schedule for field trip/activity information. Outdoor activities are weather dependent. Snack provided to all volunteers, please bring your own lunch. 

Mandatory Orientation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 6pm. There is also an additional, subject specific training on June 6th from 10am-1pm. Following registration you will receive an email to sign up for a registration time.

Week 2: Outstanding Outdoors (June 17-21)
Week 3: Animal Antics/Going Global (June 24-28)
Week 4: Wonderful Water I (July 1-3; closed July 4 & 5)
Week 5: Games Galore/Farm to Table(July 8-12)
Week 6: Marvelous Makers (July 15-19)
Week 7: Wonderful Water II (July 22-27)
Week 8: Mini Summer Fun4Kids Camp (July 29-Aug 2)

CAMP MORNING SHIFT: Volunteers on this shift will arrive at 9:15am and help set up for the day. Children begin arriving at 9:30am and will need nametags (if directed by counselor) and guidance getting ready for the day. The volunteer will assist their assigned group in morning activities, including, but not limited to, facilitation of games and activities, supervision of children, and participation in activities and games. Other tasks, like light cleaning, may be assigned on a need-be basis. Volunteer shift will go through lunch, meals will be available to purchase on-site through the Fayetteville Public School food truck.

CAMP AFTERNOON SHIFT: 
Volunteers on this shift will arrive at 11:45am and help set up for the second half of the day. Children will be finishing up lunch and will need assistance staying on-task when washing hands and cleaning up. The volunteer will assist their assigned group in afternoon activities, including, but not limited to, facilitation of games and activities, supervision of children, and participation in activities and games. Other tasks, like light cleaning, may be assigned on a need-be basis. Volunteer shift will go through the end of the day (4:30pm) and will include a light snack in the afternoon. This shift will be attending field trips most afternoons, and should be prepared to drive their own vehicle to and from the activity.
