Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA)

About

MOCA GA’s mission is to collect and archive significant, contemporary works by the artists of the state of Georgia. To place our artists in a global context, the Museum’s exhibitions include Georgia artists and artists from around the world. Our programs promote the visual arts by creating a forum for active interchange between artists and the community. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. https://mocaga.org

MOCA GA is seeking volunteers at our museum.

Our volunteer shifts are three hours each, Tuesdays through Saturdays. The morning shift is 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The afternoon shift is 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. We also have several special events throughout the year when we need volunteers in the evenings. Examples are exhibition openings, artist talks, annual gala, etc.

Volunteers assist at the front desk checking in visitors, signing up/renewing memberships, informing guests of current and upcoming exhibitions, answering questions as well as monitoring the galleries, protecting the art, assisting staff with projects.. We ask that volunteers average at least one 3-hour shift a month. Volunteers receive a free yearly Family Level membership to MOCA GA. The museum management software we use is Altru.

To initiate the volunteer sign up process please go to MOCA Volunteering at  https://mocaga.org/contribute/volunteering/  , and follow the prompts on that page to complete the application. You will be contacted by us to schedule a time to come in for training on Altru software and museum procedures, usually about a two to three hour session. You will then be added to our volunteer list where you can sign up online for shifts that work for your schedule.

We look forward to hearing from you.
