Twin Rivers Council for the Arts in Mankato is seeking resume and cover letter from interested students for the position of Nonprofit Management Intern.  This is an ideal internship for students in Nonprofit Management and those seeking work experience in a non-profit or arts based environment.

Employer Information: Twin Rivers Council for the Arts (TRCA) is a regional arts and culture alliance that works with the public and its affiliates to ensure that arts and culture thrive in Greater Mankato. It is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the arts, cultivates public participation by connecting people to arts and culture, and creates partnerships between the business, cultural, and academic communities.

Internship Description:

TRCA is seeking a Nonprofit Management Intern to assist with development of organizational policies and resources.

Major Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviewing and organizing materials for Board of Directors.

  • Streamline TRCA’s filing system (paper and digital).

  • Potential for assistance with financial management and grant applications.

  • Maintain database systems.

  • Assist with special projects as needed.


  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and set and meet deadlines.

  • Possess individual initiative and able to follow directions and work independently.

  • Possess attention to detail.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.


  • Must be able to provide your own computer/laptop.

Time Commitment:

  • 10-15 per week.

  • Meetings between in-person (one day a week or bi-weekly) and communication via email.

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship position - 10-15 hrs/wk; Optional paid hours on Thursday evenings at the front desk from 4-8pm ($9.00/hr).
