Sunday, November 29th, 2020 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm (CT)

About

Join in the discussion as we consider being responsible citizens uniting to co-create healthy communities. Listen to Bishop John Stowe, President of Pax Christi USA, as he explains why Catholics and people of goodwill should speak for life and express opposition to more executions in December and permanently. Learn from Kristin Houlé Cuellar, Executive Director of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, as she explains what is being done and how we might unite more effectively as educated citizens. In addition, Emma Tacke, Associate Director of Community Engagement with the “Catholic Mobilizing Network: Ending the Death Penalty, Promoting Restorative Justice.” will share. In addition, we will discuss the mobilizing network for action for Lisa Montgomery who is to be executed on December 8. Lisa is a victim of childhood torture, sexual abuse, and sex trafficking which led to lifelong mental illness. These discussions will be led through a panel discussion and small group discussions to promote critical thinking, analysis, and action.
